PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

To facilitate merchandising insights for product categories and serve as the point of contact for analytical inquiry for a division of merchandising. To review, execute, and manage promotional pricing strategies in alignment with the Company's goals and business initiatives.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  1. Provide insights and recommendations for key business opportunities in areas like SKU rationalization, product margin mix, inventory investment, promotional price and product offerings.
  2. Provides in depth analysis of internal and external data for recommendations and implementation.
  3. Communicates with merchant teams to share knowledge and findings. Presents results in a manner that merchandising partners can understand, ensuring usability.
  4. Manages the execution of promotional pricing data quality during the ad planning lifecycle.
  5. Creates and validates promotional pricing recommendations for accuracy and alignment to category strategy by analyzing data from external and internal sources
  6. Tracks and analyzes results of promotional price and product adjustments and works with manager on adjusting promotional strategies related to market dynamic changes, pricing trends, and market opportunities.
  7. Provides training and assistance to peers to help them better understand promotional opportunities, outcomes, and capabilities.
  8. Ensures the accuracy of promotional forecasting in partnership with category teams.
  9. Leads the execution of end of life and seasonal markdowns for products categories assigned.
  10. Identifies and resolves issues around pricing and margin through working with peers, category teams and manager.
  11. Serves as the point of contact with Retail Operations for all promotional pricing issues within category assignment.
  12. Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.
  13. Performs related work as apparent or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required with a concentration in Business, Economics, or Mathematics preferred.
  • At least 3 year of related Merchandising, Finance, Marketing or Analyst experience
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to provide follow-up research when necessary.
  • Ability to effectively gather and manage information from a variety of internal and external sources.
  • Strong math aptitude including understanding components of financial analysis and the ability to work accurately with numbers.
  • Ability to be flexible and react quickly to change.
  • Excellent computer skills including the ability to effectively work with the Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, SQL Server Management Studio, PowerBI
  • Experience working with Revenue Optimization and Competitive Pricing software.
  • Ability to travel on at least on a quarterly basis.
  • Strong organizational skills in order to effectively manage a variety of responsibilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of company and vendor personnel.
