About the Job

This position is full-time and will support the teaching mission of the Marketing Department in the Carlson School of Management. The current need is to teach an
Undergraduate course called Data Driven Business Decisions. This is an intermediate level Business Analytics course that covers topics such as simple and multiple linear
regression, logistic regression, time series data, A/B test and optimization. Both R and Excel are expected to be utilized in this class. In the longer term, the candidate could be asked to teach additional courses at Carlson.

Duties and responsibilities:
Course material preparation (e.g., syllabus, handouts, homework assignments, quizzes, exams), textbook selection, course delivery, evaluation of students, grading, management/supervision of a teaching assistant, office hours, plus management of a Canvas site (the platform used by faculty and students to provide learning materials online).

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree, preferably in a technical discipline including computer science, data science, statistics, marketing, management, psychology, or a related field and 15+ years of related industry experience, or, a PhD degree and 10+ years of related experience.


Preference will be given to PhD candidates in Marketing with degree requirements complete before September 1, 2023 or those with 2+ years of business and/or teaching experience in business analytics.


Must be eligible to work in the United States.

About the Department

The Marketing Department consists of 15 tenure and tenure track faculty members and 6 Full-Time Instructors all committed to excellence in the full range of academic responsibilities within Marketing. The teaching mission of the department includes undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and executive education.
