Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

There are many different types and sizes of machines used to convert materials. These machines range widely in their complexity. Some machines are quite easy to run; others require substantially more skill and experience.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Properly use machines.
  • Make proper use of test and inspection devices as required by the group leader and/or job packet.
  • Prepare daily time accountability and paperwork.
  • Read and follow job paperwork as required.
  • Maintain safe and clutter-free work area.
  • Enter recommendations to management for improvements in areas such as personal safety, improved product quality, better rates and yields, or any other matters that impact shop costs or employees health.
  • Practice safe working habits as detailed in the Company Safety Manual and Employee Handbook.
  • Secure help if item to be lifted or carried exceeds weights given in the Physical requirements section of the Job Description.
  • Perform packaging, assembly, duties as directed by group leader
  • Do other tasks as directed by the group leader.

CRITICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Set up machines as required.
  • Recognize quality, acceptable product.
  • Assist in the training of inexperienced persons.
  • Be skilled in the operation of many pieces of equipment throughout the plant(s).
  • Be sufficiently skilled to work with minimum supervision once initial training is completed and verified by the supervisor.
  • Employee must pass the job related physical requirement testing.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to lift up to 60lbs
  • Ability to push/pull up to 150lbs.
  • Frequent bending.
  • Standing up to an entire shift (10 hours).
