About the Job

Position Title: Grant Administrator (Pre-Award and Post-Award) C&G Pro 3 - 8223GC

Location: Shared position between SPARC and Research Computing (50/50 split). Hiring and managing department is SPARC.

Position Overview:
The Grant Administrator (Pre-Award and Post-Award) is responsible for managing all aspects of the grant lifecycle, from pre-award proposal development to post-award grant administration. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with funding agency requirements, facilitating efficient grant processes, and maximizing grant funding opportunities for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Award Duties:

*Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and program staff to identify funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities.
*Provide guidance and support in the development, preparation, and submission of grant proposals, ensuring compliance with funding agency guidelines and deadlines.
*Conduct comprehensive reviews of grant applications to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to grant requirements.
*Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary documentation, budget information, and supporting materials for grant proposals.
*Research and stay informed about funding trends, grant opportunities, and changes in grant regulations to optimize funding strategies.

Post-Award Duties:

*Oversee post-award grant management activities, including grant setup, budget monitoring, and compliance monitoring.
*Work closely with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of grant expenditures.
*Facilitate communication between principal investigators, funding agencies, and internal departments to address grant-related inquiries and resolve issues.
*Monitor grant performance against objectives, milestones, and deliverables, and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
*Maintain comprehensive grant files and documentation in accordance with organizational and funding agency requirements.
*Facilitate grant closeout processes, including final financial reporting, equipment inventory, and disposition of residual funds.



General Responsibilities:

*Serve as a resource for faculty, staff, and external partners on grant-related matters, providing guidance and training as needed.
*Foster strong relationships with funding agencies, partners, and stakeholders to enhance grant opportunities and collaborations.
*Stay abreast of best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes in grant administration and management.
*Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to grant administration.

Qualifications:

*Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration, public administration, finance) and 4 years of experience in grant administration, preferably in a research or nonprofit environment, or a combination for education and work experience equal to at least 8 years; advanced degree preferred.
*Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and private funding regulations and compliance requirements.
*Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
*Proficiency in grant management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
*Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
