The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), at the University of Minnesota announces an outstanding opportunity to join a growing academic medicine department as a Sports Medicine Physiatrist. We are seeking a dynamic and energetic professional who desires to be a part of the M Health Fairview multi-disciplinary, patient-centered, Sports Medicine Program.

As a Sports Medicine Physiatrist, responsibilities include working with the M Health Fairview Sports Medicine program director and other specialty providers to expand the M Health Fairview Sports Medicine Program within the MSK Service Line. The ideal candidate will be committed to excellent patient care, possess strong clinical skills, have outstanding interpersonal skills, and have an interest in education and scholarly activity. This position is on the Clinician Track and will have an expectation of 36 patient contact hours per week. Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Outpatient sports medicine clinical practice within the MSK Service Line in our northeast and central Twin Cities clinics. Patient encounters average 20-22 patients per day.
- Work collaboratively within a large network of both primary care and specialty physicians
throughout M Health Fairview, which includes many subspecialists through an extensive
outreach program.
- Physicians work an expectation of 36 patient contact hours per week.
- Occasional clinical responsibility of one evening per week and 1 in 4 Saturdays, at parent site or other practice sites.
- Occasional event coverage for sports activities aligned with M Health Fairview strategic
priorities.
- Work with Allied Health Professionals, APP's, and trainees (medical students, residents, fellows, visiting students, and other allied health professionals).
- Close all patient encounters within M Health Fairview time requirements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Physiatrists must be a graduate of an accredited PM&R residency training program, graduate of an accredited sports medicine fellowship program, be board-certified or board-eligible with the American Board of PM&R (ABPM&R) in physiatry and sports medicine, be eligible to obtain a Minnesota Board of Medical Practice license, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.

Applicants must possess the skills to manage change and communicate effectively in a rapidly expanding department. Enthusiasm, a collaborative nature, and an interest in expanding a nonoperative sports medicine practice are essential to the success of the department and the M Health Fairview Sports Medicine Program.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience collaborating with individuals across multiple departments, practices, and health
systems.
